AS/NZS 5139 Battery Safety Standard

Amendment No. 1 – Practical Interpretation and Compliance

Live Interactive Online Training
Two 4-hour Sessions

Course Description

This live online course consists of two four-hour interactive sessions designed to provide participants with a clear, practical understanding of AS/NZS 5139:2019 – Electrical installations – Safety of battery systems, with a strong focus on the recently published Amendment No. 1.

The course explains what has changed, why it has changed, and how the amended requirements affect battery system design, installation, inspection and certification in Australia. Emphasis is placed on interpreting the standard correctly, resolving common areas of confusion, and understanding how AS/NZS 5139 interfaces with the Wiring Rules, inverter standards, product compliance and state-based regulatory frameworks.

The training is suitable for designers, electricians, inspectors, engineers, educators and regulators involved in residential, commercial and off-grid battery systems.
